Weekend Recap

Saturday, July 21st:

Players began the day showcasing their talents in front of MLB Scouts at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and finished the day with the preliminary round of the Under Armour All-America Game Home Run Derby, powered by B45.

Sunday July 22nd:

The day started off with the conclusion of the Home Run Derby in which eight players – four from each side – participated in the finals.

Blaze Jordan (Southaven, MS) Daniel Susac (Carmichael, CA), Nolan McLean (Willow Springs, NC), and Tanner Witt (Houston, TX) represented the American side. For the National side, Jack Bulger (Bowie, MD), Zac Veen (Port Orange, FL), Austin Hendrick (Oakdale, PA), and Blake Shapen (Shreveport, LA) took part in the event.

After a mammoth display of power from all participants, Austin Hendrick edged out Daniel Susac in a swing off (2 to 1) to claim the 2019 Under Armour All-American Home Run Derby Championship.

Following the HR Derby, the National squad defeated the American squad in a spirited contest, 4-3, winning the game for the first time since 2016.
